The Carabao difference
Fun diving the relaxed way
Most dive schools in Koh Tao pack you on a crowded boat from the main pier. We depart from our own beach. It's a completely different experience.
Beach departure
Walk from the resort straight to the boat. No pier. No waiting in crowds. No stepping across strangers' gear.
Private boat
Our boat, our guests, our pace. You're not sharing with another school's group — just your own small group.
XDEEP equipment
We dive with premium XDEEP BCDs. Better trim, more comfortable dives, more time spent actually diving.
Dive sites
Koh Tao's best dive sites
We choose sites based on conditions, your level, and what you want to see. Here's what you might explore.
Chumphon Pinnacle
18–36mThe crown jewel of Koh Tao diving. Whale sharks, massive schools of chevron barracuda, giant groupers. One of Southeast Asia's best dive sites.
Sail Rock
5–34mA dramatic pinnacle rising from the sea with a unique vertical chimney. Expect whale sharks, pelagic fish, and incredible visibility on a good day.
Shark Bay
5–14mExactly what it sounds like. Blacktip reef sharks rest on the sandy bottom here every morning. A spectacular and accessible site for all levels.
White Rock
5–28mOne of Koh Tao's most diverse sites. Huge coral bommies, moray eels, turtles, and a wide range of hard and soft corals. Great for all levels.
HTMS Sattakut Wreck
14–30mA 50m decommissioned navy vessel sunk deliberately to create a reef. Incredible structure, lionfish, pufferfish, and marine life you won't find elsewhere.
Twins / Japanese Gardens
5–14mShallow, colourful, and full of life. Perfect for second dives, macro photography, or divers who prefer a more relaxed, scenic dive.
FAQ
Fun Diving — Questions
What certification do I need for fun dives?+
Any internationally recognised Open Water certification (SSI, PADI, NAUI, or equivalent) qualifies you for fun dives. If you're certified, you're welcome.
How many dives per day?+
We typically run two dives per trip — one morning trip and one afternoon trip. Most divers do 2 dives per day, though 3 dives in one day is possible depending on conditions and your certification level.
Do I need my own equipment?+
No — all equipment is included: tank, BCD, regulator, wetsuit, mask, and fins. We use XDEEP equipment for a premium diving experience.
How do the boat departures work?+
We depart directly from our beach in Chalok Bay. No walking to a pier, no crowded boats, no stepping across other vessels. Walk from the resort to the water and we're off.
Can I see whale sharks?+
Whale sharks visit Koh Tao regularly, particularly at Chumphon Pinnacle and Sail Rock. There's no guarantee — they're wild animals — but sightings are frequent enough that it's always a real possibility.
