Where we dive
Koh Tao's iconic dive sites
We run daily dives to the best sites around Koh Tao and the surrounding area. Site selection depends on weather, conditions and your group's certification level.
Chumphon Pinnacle
Koh Tao's most famous dive. Giant granite pinnacles blanketed in soft coral, huge schools of chevron barracuda, grouper, and regular whale shark sightings.
Sail Rock
One of the best dive sites in Southeast Asia. A vertical chimney through a rock pillar rising from the sea, swarming with fish. Whale sharks frequent here too.
Southwest Pinnacle
A series of pinnacles with beautiful hard and soft corals. Large pelagics, leopard sharks resting on the sand, and schooling trevally make this a highlight.
Shark Bay
Famous for its resident blacktip reef sharks in shallow water. Perfect for newer certified divers and those wanting a guaranteed wildlife encounter.
White Rock
Diverse and colourful reef with staghorn coral gardens, moray eels, octopus and butterflyfish. A beautiful all-rounder suitable for all certification levels.
Chalok Bay Reef
Our local house reef, steps from the centre. Perfect for afternoon dives, night dives, and refresher dives before heading out to the bigger sites.
What to expect
Daily dive schedule
We run two boat trips daily, morning and afternoon. Here's how a typical fun dive day looks with us.
Morning Trip — 2 Dives
08:00 – 13:00- ✓08:00 — Meet at the dive centre for briefing and equipment setup
- ✓08:30 — Boat departs from Chalok Bay beach direct to first site
- ✓Dive 1 — 45–60 min dive at main site (e.g. Chumphon Pinnacle or SW Pinnacle)
- ✓Surface interval on the boat — snacks, juice, relax
- ✓Dive 2 — Second site at same or nearby location
- ✓Return to Chalok Bay by 13:00
Afternoon Trip — 2 Dives
13:30 – 18:00- ✓13:30 — Meet at the dive centre for briefing
- ✓14:00 — Boat departs from Chalok Bay beach
- ✓Dive 1 — Afternoon site (shallower sites often have great afternoon light)
- ✓Surface interval — drift on calm afternoon seas
- ✓Dive 2 — Second dive, often White Rock or Shark Bay
- ✓Return by sunset
Night Dives
On request- ✓Available most evenings on request — just ask us on WhatsApp
- ✓Explore the reef as it transforms after dark — hunting octopus, lobster, cuttlefish
- ✓Bioluminescence is often visible in the water — one of diving's most magical experiences

Common questions
Fun Dives FAQ
What certification do I need?+
Any valid Open Water certification (or equivalent) from SSI, PADI, NAUI, CMAS or any other recognised agency. If you have a certification card, you're welcome to dive with us.
Do I need to bring my own equipment?+
No — we have full rental equipment available for 200 THB per dive. Just bring your certification card, a swimsuit, and a towel. If you do have your own gear, there's no rental fee.
How many people per group?+
We keep groups to a maximum of 6 divers per divemaster. This is stricter than most operators — it means better diving, better safety, and a much better experience.
Which dive sites will we visit?+
Site selection is based on weather, sea conditions, your group's certification level, and what's been active that day. We'll always tell you the plan in the morning briefing and explain why we've chosen those sites.
Can I do both a morning and afternoon trip?+
Absolutely — many of our divers do 4 dives a day. Just let us know and we'll plan your day accordingly. A surface interval of at least 1 hour between two-tank dives is required.
Is there a chance of seeing whale sharks?+
Koh Tao is one of the most reliable spots in Southeast Asia for whale shark encounters, particularly at Chumphon Pinnacle and Sail Rock. Sightings are common but never guaranteed — nature is wild. We keep you posted if there are recent reports.
