Koh Tao's iconic dive sites
We run daily dives to the best sites around Koh Tao and the surrounding area. Site selection depends on weather, conditions and your group's certification level.
Chumphon Pinnacle
Koh Tao's most famous dive. Giant granite pinnacles blanketed in soft coral, huge schools of chevron barracuda, grouper, and regular whale shark sightings.
Sattakut Wreck
A retired Thai navy vessel deliberately sunk off Koh Tao. Now covered in coral and home to lionfish, moray eels, batfish, and a hauntingly beautiful swim-through interior.
Southwest Pinnacle
A series of pinnacles with beautiful hard and soft corals. Large pelagics, leopard sharks resting on the sand, and schooling trevally make this a highlight.
Shark Bay
Famous for its resident blacktip reef sharks in shallow water. Perfect for newer certified divers and those wanting a guaranteed wildlife encounter.
White Rock
Diverse and colourful reef with staghorn coral gardens, moray eels, octopus and butterflyfish. A beautiful all-rounder suitable for all certification levels.
Tanote Bay
A sheltered bay on Koh Tao's east coast with calm, clear water. Rocky outcrops covered in hard coral, resident turtles, and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for all levels.
What to expect
Daily dive schedule
We run two boat trips daily plus night dives on most evenings. Here's how a typical fun dive day looks with us.
Morning Trip โ 2 Dives
Meet 06:30 ยท Depart 06:45 ยท Back by 11:30- โ06:30 โ Meet at Chalok Bay beach for briefing and equipment setup
- โ06:45 โ Private boat departs direct to first site
- โDive 1 โ 45โ60 min dive at main site (e.g. Chumphon Pinnacle or SW Pinnacle)
- โSurface interval on the boat โ snacks, juice, relax
- โDive 2 โ Second site at same or nearby location
- โBack at Chalok Bay beach by 11:30
Afternoon Trip โ 2 Dives
Meet 12:00 ยท Depart 12:15 ยท Back by 16:30- โ12:00 โ Meet at Chalok Bay beach for briefing
- โ12:15 โ Private boat departs from the beach
- โDive 1 โ Afternoon site (shallower reefs with beautiful afternoon light)

Common questions
Fun Dives FAQ
What certification do I need?+
Any valid Open Water certification (or equivalent) from SSI, PADI, NAUI, CMAS or any other recognised agency. If you have a certification card, you're welcome to dive with us.
Do I need to bring my own equipment?+
No โ we have full rental equipment available for 200 THB per dive. Just bring your certification card, a swimsuit, and a towel. If you do have your own gear, there's no rental fee.
How many people per group?+
We keep groups to a maximum of 6 divers per divemaster. This is stricter than most operators โ it means better diving, better safety, and a much better experience.
Which dive sites will we visit?+
Site selection is based on weather, sea conditions, your group's certification level, and what's been active that day. We'll always tell you the plan in the morning briefing and explain why we've chosen those sites.
Can I do both a morning and afternoon trip?+
Absolutely โ many of our divers do 4 dives a day. Just let us know and we'll plan your day accordingly. A surface interval of at least 1 hour between two-tank dives is required.
Is there a chance of seeing whale sharks?+
Koh Tao is one of the most reliable spots in Southeast Asia for whale shark encounters, particularly at Chumphon Pinnacle and Southwest Pinnacle. Sightings are common but never guaranteed โ nature is wild. We keep you posted if there are recent reports.
